Hey Google, talk to Yonomi
EDIT: Instructions for enabling Yonomi in the Google Assistant app have been improved. Yonomi is enabled through the "Home control" section of the Settings tab. Trying to link Yonomi through the 'Explore' will result in an error at this time.
Coming off of an amazing 2017 for Yonomi and our users, we’re excited to kick off 2018 with a bang. Today we are happy to announce that Yonomi now works with the Google Assistant and Google Home!
Integration with Google Home and the Google Assistant has been perhaps our most requested feature of all time, and we’ve heard your requests loud and clear.
We’ve been working closely with the Google team in Mountain View these past few months and are proud to say that the full Yonomi experience is now available for the Google Assistant and devices like Google Home.
Yonomi now works with the Google Assistant
The Yonomi Smart Home Action for Google Assistant makes it easy to control all of your favorite Routines and connected devices using only your voice. The Yonomi app works with any Google Assistant compatible device, including Google Home, Google Home Mini, Google Home Max, Android phones, iPhones, Android TV, and Chromebook.
To get started, simply open your Google Assistant app, open Settings, click on 'Home control', click the '+' sign at the bottom-right, and browse to the bottom until you find “Yonomi” (it's in alphabetical order). Once your Yonomi account is linked to your Google Assistant, all of your existing Routines and linked devices can be immediately controlled using the sound of your voice.
Google Assistant can control your Routines
With the Google Assistant, you no longer need to open up the Yonomi app on your phone every time you want to run a smart home Routine. Simply state “Hey Google” and tell your Google Assistant what you would like it to do.
“Hey Google, activate Fall Asleep”
Open the Yonomi app and create a Routine called “Fall Asleep” that includes the following activities:
- Logitech Harmony Hub shuts off your TV
- All Sonos speakers turn off
- Overhead LIFX bulbs turn off
- Philips Hue LightStrip dims to nighttime mode
- All doors lock
Thanks to the Google Assistant and Yonomi, you'll never have to get out of bed to turn out the lights again!
“Hey Google, turn on Dinner Party Mode”
Open the Yonomi app and create a Routine called “Dinner Party Mode” that includes the following activities:
- Living room Sonos PLAY:5 plays “Dinner With Friends” playlist (or another one of your Sonos favorites)
- Living room Philips Hue bulbs set to 50% brightness
- Nest Thermostat turns down to 72°F
With the Yonomi app for the Google Assistant and our integration with Sonos, you can have the perfect music, lighting, and temperature set up when your guests arrive without having to leave the kitchen.
