With iOS 12 or later, Yonomi users can finally start using Siri to do all of the amazing things they already do with the Yonomi App just by using their voice and their iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, HomePod.

For Sonos owners, this means they can now use Siri to turn their Sonos system on and off, group speakers, and play Sonos Favorites by using the free Yonomi App and Siri Shortcuts. Here’s how!

How to Turn On Sonos With Siri Shortcuts

  • First, make sure you’ve downloaded the Yonomi App and are running iOS 12 or later

  • When you open the Yonomi App, run Discovery to confirm that all of your Sonos devices are linked to your Yonomi account

  • In the Yonomi App, create a new Routine called “Play All Sonos”, or whatever you would like to name the Routine

  • Under “Run These Actions”, set all of your Sonos speakers to Play

    • When you run this Routine, all of the speakers you listed will automatically create a Sonos group. This will ungroup these speakers from any previously created groups

    • You can also create a Routine that only plays certain speakers, e.g. “Play Upstairs Sonos”

  • Your Routine is now ready to use with any Yonomi-compatible device linked to your Yonomi account.

  • To run the Routine using Siri on your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or HomePod, follow these instructions to create a new Siri Shortcut.

How to Play Sonos Favorites With Siri Shortcuts

You can also use Yonomi and Siri to run Routines that play specific radio stations or albums saved to your Sonos Favorites.

  • First, make sure you’ve downloaded the Yonomi App and are running iOS 12 or later

  • When you open the Yonomi App, run Discovery to confirm that all of your Sonos devices are linked to your Yonomi account

  • Next, in the Sonos app on your mobile device or in the Sonos Controller for desktop, add your preferred radio station or playlist to your Sonos Favorites

  • In the Yonomi App, create a new Routine called “Play [Sonos Favorite] on Sonos”, or whatever you would like to name the Routine

  • Under “Run These Actions”, set all of your Sonos speakers to Play your desired Sonos Favorite

    • It’s important that you set each speaker you want to include in the Routine to play the same Sonos Favorite

    • When you run this Routine, all of the speakers you listed will automatically create a Sonos group and begin playing the Sonos Favorite. This will ungroup these speakers from any previously created groups

    • You can also create a Routine that only plays the Favorite on certain speakers, e.g. “Play [Sonos Favorite] on Upstairs Sonos”

  • Your Routine is now ready to use with any Yonomi-compatible device linked to your Yonomi account.

  • To run the Routine using Siri on your iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, or HomePod, follow these instructions to create a new Siri Shortcut.

How to Pause Sonos With Siri Shortcuts
